Abstract In order to reveal the essence of the process of scientific literature dissemination and analyze the dynamic mechanism of scientific development, this paper introduces the theory of knowledge evolution and uses the methods of probability statistics, complex network analysis, and simulation experiments, as well as research on scientific literature dissemination networks. First, it expounds on the main contents of the theory of knowledge evolution and analyzes the representation of knowledge evolution phenomena in scientific literature dissemination; second, it employs a network transmission model of scientific literature dissemination constructed based on knowledge evolution; and last, the validity and feasibility of the model are verified by simulation experiments. It is found that there is a hidden knowledge evolution phenomenon, as well as attribute characteristics and evolutionary behaviors, in scientific literature dissemination networks. The results reflect the state and laws of scientific literature dissemination.
