Abstract The rapid development of big data technology brings more opportunities and challenges to the development of digital libraries. This paper comprehensively explains the position of user service in the construction of digital libraries in the age of big data from the point of view of user service. Based on analysis of the concept of big data, this paper discusses the relationship between digital libraries and big data, and the impact of big data on it. This paper focuses on the importance of user services in the construction of digital libraries in the age of big data and the types of big data resources that digital libraries can utilize. Finally, it expounds the problems and possibilities of digital libraries in this age, and explains the methods and meanings of digital library reform from four aspects: data, technology, service, and user.
